It's time to act, people, not complain. Don't you think America's about due for a revolution???

Wow, the conclusions people jump to... Did I say a word about violence? All I am saying is that everyone in this country who I talk to is angry about the government, yet nothing's changed. The government is supposed to accurately reflect the viewpoint of the people, and they're failing at that. I agree with all of you who said that the essential problem is that people are too comfortable in their immediate lives, and therefore have no personal drive to make any changes. And I'm not saying this country is complete ****, either... I just see a whole lot of room for improvement. America is supposed to be "by the people, for the people" and that's sure not what I'm seeing.

this is highly treasonous and I'm sure yahoo is busy reporting you right now , and now you stand the chance of being picked up by a government official, never being charged with anything, never get to defend yourself, and never being released, welcome to the new America! I'm so glad we have won!!

A revolution to what? Communism, Totalitarianism, Socialism, Dictatorship, Theological Dictatorship???????
Just because everything isn't going your way right now is no reason to throw the baby out with the bath water. There is always the option to move somewhere else. Take your pick.
I often am amazed at how the rest of the world thinks we have it made in the shade but Americans in general constantly complain about everything under the sun. It just goes to show that it is impossible to satisfy everyone all the time. The ego must always be fed. Have you ever noticed no matter what we think will make us happy, when we attain it, its always time to go to the next best thing? The ego will never be satified. While you and I believe that millionaires have it made, many are in constant fear of losing what they have, thus the desire to accumulate even more instead of relaxing and enjoying their bounty. Travel around some and you will see how fortunate we really are. My mom traveled outside the U.S.-once. Thru China and Hong Cong and several other countries at the ripe old age of 70. She was never so happy to get back to the U.S.A. and vowed never to leave it again or complain about what she "didnt" have and she was true to her word even though she lived another 25 years!! I have the unenviable experience of war and traveling extensively and if you think what goes on here is bad you haven't been around long. This is heaven on earth compared to most. At least here we have redress and checks and balances that work pretty darn good. The reason folks ***** so much IS THAT WE CAN. You have no clue about what a huge freedom that is-the idea of discussing anything at anytime for any reason without fear of retribution. The system is not just built for you. It is built for all of us in mind. That in and of itself will provide the friction that eventually produces substantive change not willy-nilly knee jerk reactions to temporary problems.

People rarely revolt when they have their basic needs satisfied.
SO long as people have a roof over their heads, food to eat and no one is assaulting them or their family personally they will rarely revolt. Even our own revolution would probably not have happened if the British hadn't been stupid enough to blockade the ports. They unemployed the sailors, dock workers, warehouse workers, and many other businesses that relied on those. When the people were unemployed and having trouble paying for food revolution was allot more attractive.
People go home to their warm house and family, they cook a big meal and they say that the government sucks but nothing can be done. They will do that until they feel personally threatened or hungry. When that happens to enough they will start forming groups and stirring mischief.

While many Americans are disappointed with the current direction the country is taking, most Americans are generally satisfied wth their own lives. The 2006 election showed Americans' desire to head in a new direction, and will no doubt be reflected in the 2008 election as well.

But revolutions are for people who have nothing left to lose.

Yup, It was started about 300 years ago, and still goes on. The bitching and moaning is good for the soul.

We are all the results of it. The only country on the planet that redefines its self as a matter of fact. There are other democracies, but their old money is much more controlling. We have the largest middle class. That is probably the reason for the international financial repression which we are experiencing.

Two words: American Idol.

Sorry, most of us are too fat and lazy to care about any real issues. It's easier to just sit around and watch T.V.

If anybody was paying attention, we would have kicked out every single member of the government (all branches) for violating their oaths to protect the Constitution. They all use it for toilet paper (especially the Supreme Court), but we're too rich, spoiled, and lazy to notice.

Seriously, how many people can list the 10 amendments in the Bill of Rights? Maybe 1% of the population, if you're lucky.

We already started the revolution November 7th. That's how Americans change regimes--by constitutional means. Why do you thing BushCo have tried so hard to undermine the constitution--its the most powerful weapon the people have. And its theirs--not his.

That's one of the great things about this country--we don't HAVE to get out in the streets and start shooting. Have a little patience--but get out and vote. Telll your lawmakers what you think. Work in political campaigns. That's how we fight--with ideas, not bullets.

It's so hard achieve any real progress. When people start talking about serious change, they're labeled as "radicals". Also, I think there is a sense of apathy among Americans when it comes to government and politics. If you think about it, how much does your life really change depending on whose in office? I would argue that nowadays, people in other countries have a higher stake in who is in power in America.

the problem it we all realize that, stores would get destroyed and people would get hurt....only the little guy would suffer....The answer is, vote. I say get everyone out that is in office now. from your local mayor to the president. Gas prices have went to $3.19 here and I am sick of it. Our government has done nothing to help. This is hurting the little guy driving to work....The guy driveing to see his kids. The family who cant afford to go on vacation to spend time with one another. It doesnt hurt the government at all. They get a percentage of the gas in taxes so since the gas is so high, the taxes have doubled. Jerks!

Because internet forums have given us a venue to blow off steam without actually having to take any risk, of course.

Really, the revolution that needs to come in America is not one of guns, but one of votes. We need to throw out every incumbent and elect someone who has never before been in government. Just to show them we can.

Problem is, it's always those OTHER people's scoundrels that we hate. We tend to keep re-electing our own scoundrels.

Because the desire to start a revolution every time you disagree with something is the same thing that drives the terrorists: extremism and a lack of rationality.

We're better than that.

Disagreeing with someone is not a good enough reason for violence.
