Full adult rights with the exception of drinking which is illegal until one is 21.

He gets the right to remain silent. Anything he says can and will be used in a court of law against him.
He gets the right to be tried as an adult.
If he can not afford an attorney he gets the right to have one appointed for him who works for the Legal System.
He gets the right to scream that he was set-up when he's found guilty and sentenced to Life in Prison.
He gets the right to be befriended by a big hairy guy named Bubba who thinks he's cute.
Rights. Watch out for them.

The right to move out of their parents house.
The right to vote.
The right to provide for themselves.
The right to join the armed forces.
The right to marry.
The right to try and act like an adult (even when that magic 18 comes, they really are not adults).

It's just a non-stop party - the right to vote, be tried as an adult, and get shipped off to Iraq.
Of course, the fun stuff (drinking legally and gambling) doesn't come for another three years.

When I was 18, I didn't feel grown up. To feel "grown up" you have to move out, start working or college.

You get the right to get sent to a foreign country to get your *** blown off by insurgents. After that, you pretty much don't get squat until you turn 21.
