If not, what a wopping loophole in government. Special Interests, Mafia, Power Brokers, Terrorists, Communists, foreign governments could all be paying them to be their puppet.
I'm for a National Campaign fund so no politician is beholden to anyone.

In Ireland you wont get away with having off shore accounts the Irish Government have introduced the criminal assets bureau (cab) and every one the tries to cheat gets caught Politicians, Business people, Criminals any one that is living above their means are investigated and get very large fines and in some cases sent to jail. so there should be changes made to catch those that are steeling from the honest people.

Even if you had a National Campaign fund, this wouldn't stop someone from accepting bribes. As it is now, all campaign donations are carefully reported on a quarterly basis, and vetted accordingly. Politians are smart enough to realize you can still be bribed and not have to have that money go towards your campaign.
