Don't put them in the washing machine as you have the danger of the sock linings loosing shape.

On some canvas shoes, the sock lining is removable. Remove sock linings and place all components separately into the washing machine. Let air dry. Then reassemble.

The other option is to scrub by hand using a soft brush, rinse and air dry.

Run them through the washing machine a time or two. They should come out alright.
