i don't know about others but i get cramps DURING my period...the first 1-3 days are hell

Cramps - can be agony a few days before your period and some have women have them all the way through also.

some are before during ovulation because thats when the egg is realesed ready for fertilisation, so chemicals r released that increase the sex drive. some are during because sex eases the cramps. and some are after in celebration of finishing another cycle. and then there r some who are horniest in the middle while there is no mood swings, sore breasts, cramping, bleeding or anything to interrupt the day. it all depends on the girl really.

Oh my! most months i get cramps/pain from the waist down and find it hard to walk for the first day of my period then other months i get no pain at all. Strange but true

Both.
I had them bad a few days before until the last day of my periods.
The cramps went away after going on a birth control pill.

You can get them before (pre-menstrual) or during. But its generally the first day or two, unless there is an infection of some sort.
