Rewritten Question = mx +2=4-nx

First step is to put like terms together which includes putting the 2 and the 4 together which is

mx=4-2-nx

2nd step is get x by itself which includes dividing by m on both sides.

mx/m=2-nx/m

last step is to do your calculations right, which is eliminating the m on one side and leave the division on the next side. This is it, it cannot be solved any further

x=2-nx/m

mx + 2 = 4 - nx

mx + nx = 4 -2

(m + n)x = 2

x = 2/(m + n) (with ''m + n'' not equal to 0)

Move all x's to one side of the equation:
mx+nx=4-2

Isolate the x
x (m+n)=2

Divide
x=2/(m+n)
