Human habits are so bizarre.

I just wanted to ask everyone...
WHEN??
When...will you one day start seeing the sunrise as a common place thing and no longer feel the Wonder of it?

When?
Will you one day reach the point where you look at the first light of the day and see it as Nothing More than a way of marking time?

When?
Will you one day not even see the beauty that is the milky way and just see it as dots in the sky, instead of billions of stars, planets, and a whole array of multiple galaxies?

Today? Tomorrow? Or maybe your there already?

Everyone:
I do not take those things for granted, i cherish them EVERY DAY!! Its one of the few joys I can count on everyday!!

Please, i love to ask questions for others to reflect on (usually something i have reflected on in the past), i love to make people think for themselves...
So, no judging... It's a pointless endeavor.

hahhahha I am not really into the poetic way that you wrote this( i am an engi-nerd) but i totally agree with you. People(including myself and probably you) do not stop to smell the roses. It is easy in the fast paced environment we live in to pick up these bad habits. However if you constantly work on it you can develop you own useful habits that make you happy. i think you must have very strong will to do this though. And i think you would agree that it would be nice if others would take things alittle slower but the world is not going to change you can only change yourself.

Since I get up at 5:30, I'm very accustomed to the sunrise. (The first time my brother saw one, he was about 15 in the 1950s and he thought it was a nuclear bomb.)

The stars, the planets. Ah yes. But mainly I am awestruck at a very low and very full and very yellow moon. When I see that I wonder how someone could not believe in a Higher Force.

"familiarity breeds contempt"
It would take a long time but if looking at the sunrise every morning for 5- 10 years straight was part of your job, you may get sick of it, but only if your optimism was diminished in some way.

even if we or you (perhaps) get so involved with other facets of life that you drift temporarily from *episodes of wonder* or ponder of the things you have named..............be gentle on yourself. You are here to experience as much as you open up to......even distance from the outwardly spectacular items. It is all a metaphor, all things hold this splendor REALLY!

these first huge things direct us within eventually and in turn we are set in perpetual motion. the ebb and flow of going within ourselves and stepping way out and back again............swing on you crazy pendulum ....we are here to enjoy the ride!!

I hope I never take for granted these wondrous things.

Perhaps I am more a poet then a scientist.

i wouldnt think they're habits...
it's a instinctive mechanism to be at awe with anything beautiful, most especially of things we humans can never create with our limited power.
our emotionality gives us to feel the moment,
even the most boring night of all can be magical...
always remember, we are all ordinary people..
but with extra-ordinary sense of wonder...
Time, the World, the Universe.. they're all yours to give meaning to.

The only way we/I will ever view things the way that you have described them is if we/I achieve immortality. Living forever would bring about this state. Otherwise the wonder will still be there.
