At the restaurant I work at now, I automatically have to tip 1.5% of my total sales if only one person worked, 2% for two and 3% for three. (That's 10%, 15% and 20% of my assumed tips) Some days that comes out about right and sometimes it would be rediculously high. But most places make you tip 10% of your tips actually in hand. It really depends.

I don't like to tip a bus boy who I had to clean up after. Which I do for our bus boys all the time. As long as you do your job, the servers won't complain about tipping you.

At one place where I worked, I only had to tip out busboys on Friday and Saturday nights when I'd be working a party. The rest of the time there were no busboys. It was "highly suggested" than I should give them $5. No matter what my tips were.

The normal percentage is 15%. If they do a better job than normal tip higher. If there job is not even the norm and they slack off tip less with an explanation of why.

I usually tip 20% of my tips if they do a good job. Unfortunately, our other waitress gives them $2 to $5. no matter what she makes in tips or how good a job he does

Check with your other servers and find out what they tip out, or ask your boss.

anonymous is just rambling. If you do not have something constructive to say, put a sock in it.
