There are some hatayoga exercises that are specifically aimed at hypothyroidism. These directly stimulate the thyroid glands. These exercises can be an adjunct to the conventional treatment. Wherever these help, the user can gradually wean away from prescription drugs.

This is not a cure-all. May work only in some cases of Hypothyroidism.

I have been practising these exercises for close to sixty years now. I am slightly hyper as a result.

However, one should go by medical advice as there can be an acute condition that may need immediate correction. Yoga practice is very slow.

hi there :) everyone has given great advice, and the bladderwrack really is the best. i was recently diagnosed with endometriosis, and according to my blood tests, my thyroid level is fine but is on the low end and i have been having hypo symptoms as well. i am genetically wired to have hypothyroid--my mom, grandma and great grandma all have/had it (my ggma died of goiter!), so unless i take some action it will only get worse. yesterday i went to see a naturopath, and she immediately knew i had low thyroid and put me on a bladderwrack/wild lettuce/irish moss tincture, along with some other supplements since the thyroid is involved in hormone production which has been part of my endometriosis problem. they're all connected. i would suggest, if you can afford it, to get your thyroid checked with your regular doctor, and then take those results to a naturopath. most insurance does not cover the naturopath, but it cost me less than $100 to see one (not including the supplements). most are willing to work with you, because they are genuinely concerned about your health. by seeing the naturopath you can make sure you're getting exactly the amounts you need so you dont cause other problems! i definitely think it is worth it to have the advice and guidance of someone who understands how our bodies work a little better than we do. good luck and best of health to you! ~josey~

I use a product called Natra-Bio - Thyroid Support in addition to thyroid hormone (and used it alone when I ran out of the prescription). It helps me feel more energized. Also, I have had great results with Nature's Sunshine products. Here is the website:

They are one of the few companies that sell products that I have seen working firsthand. They are excellent quality.

An underactive thyroid means that the thyroid is not being "fed", which means that it's not getting the nutrients properly from the food you are eating.

There a few herbs you can take that will "feed" your thyroid and help to get it back on track. They are: KELP, BLADDERWRACK, and DULSE. If you know anyone who does kinesology, I would recommend that they test you to see which one your body will respond to the most.

Another alternative would be to take a couple of formulas that were created specifically for the thyroid. Mullein~Lobelia, Super Foods Capsules, and Thyroid Mix Capsules.

The Mullein~Lobelia repairs tissueand the Lobelia acts as a regulator. They enhanse all glands.

Super Foods Capsules also helps the thyroid rebuild it's self, while decreasing swelling that may be involved with in the thyroid.

Thyroid Mix Capsules contain the 3 main herbs I listed above for the thyroid: Dulse, Bladderwrack, and Kelp.

For some people, only 30 days is needed to bring the thyroid back to its normal operations, with others, it takes longer. It just depends on the severity of yours.

Another recomendation would be to see an Iridologist. There may be an underlying factor that is making your thyroid "act" underactive. A good iridologist would be able to tell you everything they see, and tell you why your thyroid is underactive.

I know of a great iridologist that will do Iridology readings for free, via email. All you do is take a photo of each of your eyes (make sure that you get the camera so close that only the eye is in the photo. Also, make sure that the entire iris is showing so open your eyes wide, or hold back the eyelids) and email them to info@masterpeaceinc.com.

The best natural way to treat hypothyroidism is the use of a natural thyroid medication like Armour. I tried Levoxyl, it did nothing for my symptoms. I tried Levoxyl with little bit of CYtomel and it helped many of my symptoms. I am now on Armour and it has helped almost every symptom. Links below on ARmour.

Thyroid disease is one of the most common health problems we face today. From a practical standpoint, there are many ways to approach this issue. Learn here https://tinyurl.im/aH6sB Hypothyroidism, or underactive thyroid, is a very common problem, and there are many reasons for this, including drinking chlorinated and fluoridated water, and eating brominated flour. Chlorine, fluoride, and bromine are all in the same family as iodine, and can displace iodine in your thyroid gland. Secondly, many people simply aren't getting enough iodine in their diet to begin with. The amount you get from iodized salt is just barely enough to prevent you from getting a goiter.
