It is very hard to teach a contact lens wearer who is so scared. It sounds like you are young and your mom is pushing you into wearing contacts.
Be honest. Tell her that you do not want to wear contacts yet and would rather have a good looking pair of glasses.
Good luck.

I don't blame you. I would be scared, too. Have you told your mom how you feel about it? I think you ought to. Have you tried saying, "Please, Mom, I do not want these contacts. I really don't. Not now. Maybe later"?
Your mother will respect your wishes unless she is some kind of bully.
The contacts would probably be OK, but they sound to me like a big nuisance. Always having to mess with them --glasses sound to me like less trouble.
I don't give a damn what all the people above say. Neither should you. It's your eyes and you should have it your way. You may have to stand up for yourself on this one, unless someone can really persuade you.

I used to be an optician. Believe me I've never seen anybody cry when they are getting fitted for contact. If you think about it you can either keep wearing your glasses and save your mom some money or go get fittited and see even better than with glasses.
The difficult part is learning to put them on and take them off. You'll be ok, nothing to worry about. good luck

Give it a shot....the rule of thumb is, if you can put drops in your eye then you can wear them...Try touching your eye several times. If this still freaks you out....When you are getting your "class", tell the opticain you are not ready for them. They will talk to your mother about it.
I have fit hundreds of kids in contacts and 99% of the time they are fine. It will take a few tries but once you do it...you will love it. It will feel like an eyelash on your eye for a few minutes but then you dont even know its there.

I've had contacts for about 7 years now. There is nothing to be scared of. It doesn't hurt, you won't go blind. You will be perfectly fine. There really isn't any "fitting" going on. They should just give you a pair in your prescription and you put them in... if they feel funky, you take them out and they try a different size. Once you put them in and have them in for a little bit you're going to wonder what you were scared about! I love my contacts!

I got contacts last year and I was scared out of my mind!! But, it really does not hurt at all. Just try them..trust me, they are way better than glasses!! Make sure you take good care of them as well. And if you still don't think you are ready, ask your mom if she will cancel the appiontment. Hope this helped!

I've worn contacts for 16 years. They are not bad at all! There is no reason to be afraid. I assume you'll be getting the soft lenses, and honestly you can't even feel them once they're in. And regardless of what you may think, it is not weird or painful to put them in/take them out. I love my contacts. You'll be fine. Good luck!

Some people really struggle and others are fine. I was fine with wearing them - they were actually very comfortable - but just couldn't get the buggers in (I have long finger nails). Easy peasy with practice and so much easier than glasses. Just stick with it - no need to be scared.

I've had contacts for years, but I do remember how hard it was the first few times getting them in. One time it took me one hour to to get them in. But you know what? After a while your eye gets use to the touching. I can put my finger on my eye ball. No joke. And so will you.
The first time your eye care provider will put them in.

it's not as bad as you think. it will change your appearance if you will choose a color which is different from the color of your eyes. this is a necessity and this is not the kind of thing that you need to get ready. this is nothing, promise. you will love it.
