Cope with it or not, it is happening! I am 51, probably seems old to lots of people. But age doesn't stop me from doing anything I want to do. And if it does, there is still plenty left. Being 51 is freeing. I see the clothes styles the young girls wear and I think "thank God I don't have to try to wear that!"
I fear things happening that I don't want to happen like injury or illness, but those things can happen at any age. They don't happen to everyone, and if they happen to you, you deal with it then. Worrying ahead of time won't do any good.
Why be depressed because I am not 18 anymore? I was 18 once, and I wasn't good at it.

I'm a Christian, so I'll answer from that perspective. I've had a heart transplant, am near 60, and know that I'm not going to last forever. However, I believe that God has ultimately rescued my life through the death of His own Son, Jesus. So, even though I'll die, at the end of time I will be given new life in heaven. I don't deserve it; it's all due to God's undeserved love. But I'll take it! Now my life can be dedicated to Him in gratitude by loving those whom I encounter from day to day. Each day becomes an adventure of sorts. What can I do today that is a blessing for someone else, or for myself. I focus on the present and the future letting the past behind in the knowledge that, no matter what happens when I get old - pain, loneliness, dementia, etc., nothing can separate me from the love of God given to me through my Lord Jesus.
Blessings to you!

I'm 77. It is sad for me to hear this question being asked. To be young and fear old age?! My goodness! My goal has been to grow old gracefully. Some health problems are avoidable, some are not. But the spirit, mind, attitude are important too and mostly can be controlled by positive thinking, good habits and good thoughts. Also, I've been blessed, I think by a Christian upbringing and philosphy....(and lots of luck :) God loves you and has a purpose for your life and it is a good idea to search for his path for you.

Mind over matter. If you don't mind it doesn't matter. Age is simply how old you allow yourself to feel. Yes with age come certain inevitable anamolies; however, if you "fear" it to begin with than it is no different than hypochondria. Relax. Age is a number and it's never mattered to me. My mom is 83 years old and if you saw her and knew her activity schedule and everything she does, you would probably peg her at around 63 or 65.

Coping with aging is one of the cruelties of life. Usually people cope by buying themselves really expensive stuff.

It's really hard for me to cope with aging...Today I have just turned 16, but I feel I'm getting too old...I'm not afraid of death, but of facing the world from the state of an adult.I think that becoming an adult is one of the most sad things that will happen to me.

I'm 32 - nearly - and I can't cope with being in my thirties. Cheer yourself up by masturbating around the clock and watching your favourite tv programmes.

You just enjoy every day and don't take life so seriously.
A sense of humor helps with any problem.
