I have a lilly specimen garden, and despite their delicate appearance and smell, they are quite hardy. I have planted many stargazer lilies during almost all months of spring and late summer. Buy them from the nursery when they are done blooming and really cheap. They wont bloom this year, but should overwinter well zones 4 and up. Once you start planting lilies, you'll be hooked. Remember the general about this great plant: they like their heads in the sun and feet in the shade. Throw on a little slow release fert. this time of year for best blooming in summer....good luck

You can plant them right now but don't wait much longer. Full sun/light shade, well-drained soil. Plant them 4 times the size of the bulb deep. So if the bulb is 1" tall, plant 4" deep. Make sure it's also well drained soil so that the bulb doesn't rot. I love them and they seem to be spreading by seed all over my yard. I have them in places where I know I didn't plant them. Enjoy!

From a gardening site:
"Although fall planting is more common, they can also be planted in the spring.
The bulbs never go dormant, so plant them as soon as possible. "

Stargazers and most other asiatic lilies should be planted in your area as soon as the danger of frost is over.

Plant them now or as soon as the first frost passes in your area. Make sure they are in an area that gets plenty of sun.

I have planted them after the frost is over and never had a problem.
