I'm currently on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo birth control. I've heard it can be expensive. I need to put in my prescription soon but i don't want to use my insurace because i'm under my parents. If i do use my insurance, will my parents find out about the birth control? Or would it be possible to use my boyfriends insurance to cover my birth control? If there is anyone taking the same brand of BC as me, could you let me know how much you pay and whether or not you use insurance.

Thanks so much!

It does depend greatly on the brand and pharmacy. I am paying 59.00 a month for the patch. It is likely your parents will never find out about the perscription. You should really tell them though. There are other reasons to take the pill besides sexual protection. Lessening of cramps dimineshed bleeding and regular periods being just a few.

You really don't want your parents to find them and getting angry because trust is hard to rebuild.

You need to use your parents insurance (who has coverage for you) or your own insurance (which I suspect you do not have).

Think of it this way, would you want to pay $30-40 each month or a much much larger amount on prenatal care and diapers?

Also you can check out Planned Parenthood for contraceptives.

planned parenthood is your most inexpensive selection. the cost there regularly varies in accordance to how a lot your income is. you ought to be able to get it for loose, or merely about loose there. As on your woman's health clinics, in case you will get a replica of your mom and father' coverage card, you could make your human being appointment. they could not sense free about it, yet in case you sense you may want to get examined (once you're having sex, you do!) and also you do not opt to address planned parenthood, it really is an selection. once you've their coverage card (or in case your pharmacy has their coverage on document), you will get your prescription for birth control crammed using their coverage. coverage businesses do not deliver your mom and father something pointing out what drugs were crammed using the cardboard.

You need to talk to your parents and let them know that you are on the pill, if you are old enough to have responsible sex then you can have a mature conversation with your parents. They will respect your honesty..This is the best way! You cannot use your boyfriends insurance because you are not married and your name is not coverd.
