do you have a Windows XP CD?
You need it to clean everything.

If you do.. here is the way

Put your CD inside the CDrom
restart your PC

When your asked if you want to run it from the CD press any key

Let it load up (should be a blue background)

Delete the Drives (C:, D: or whatever you have in there)
and then Make new Drives. (If you have a large Harddrive.. lets say like 20+ gb harddrive, make sure you make it a NTFS format. If it doesn't go with the FAT)

Do a format or a quickformat...

And it'll start installing the windows.

When the windows is up, your computer will be brand new.

Make sure you have the motherboard / all the drivers that you need to make the Cdroms, floppy bays, and other devices to function correctly on your computer.

And don't forget to back up the important data's that is currently in your harddrive.. because after formating your computer, everything is gone, and you won't be able to access them... 4ever

If you really want your computer to become new once again then try to locate CD or DVD which came with the computer called Recovery. But before running recovery make back up of all important data including addresses and e-mail. Then run Recovery. Those software which were included in the recovery CD or DVD will be installed but some other you will have to install manually.

Or if you want to give a try to freeware first then use the link and download. I am also using it and it good. It got no spy ware or ad ware.

Hope this will help you. nihon94@yahoo.com

Well, firstly, theres no need to delete everything.
You'll have to just sit down one day, and go through all the files. Then see what you dont need, and merely delete them.(Dont forget to clear them from the Recycle Bin too!)
Remember, do not DELETE Programs. Delete your files(like word docs, music, excel sheets etc) For your programs, go to Control Panel --> Add/Remove Programs-->and then choose the programs you wish to uninstall.

Then, do a Disk Defragmentation.Fragmentation is the leading cause of a slow computer.
Go to Start-->All Programs-->Accesories-->System Tools-->Disk Defragmenter
It will really help to boost your comps speed

Note:Dont delete any of your system files though!

I hope you didn't format C. You'll be sorry if you do that. Delete everything you've saved, documents, folders, etc. Delete all your temp files, and defrag, etc. Delete memory??? Ummm.. don't think that's what you want to do. But whatever you do, don't reformat your C drive.

Or simply use your install disk to do a clean install.

If your computer is old, might just be time for a new one

you have emptied the recycle bin,ya? as deleting things only sends them there and not actually off the computer, but are left in the bin so that they may be restored if necessary. once they'v been deleted from the bin tho, they are gone and space should be freed on the memory... also compacting any files that are not used too often cud also help, although not too much..!

Take it to a computer guy and he can do it for what they call maintance. But you should not try it yourself you may delete infomation that you need to run your computer.
that is not a job for amatures. It only costs around 40. and worth every penny just take the CPU unit and he will do the rest.

Certainly, but you are going to need some installation disks with an operating system on it. If you think you have them, try putting them in your CD drive and rebooting your computer. If you're lucky, your computer will boot from them (You may have to hit a key to boot from CD). Realize you will lose all your personal files if you don't save them on another hard disk partition, or burn them to CD beforehand!

The memory is a physical thing (stick) I do not think that is what you mean.

I think you want to wipe or perhaps reformat your hard drive. Not for the faint at heart. You should not try this yourself.

Put the computer back in the box and take it back to the store and tell them you are...................

CCleaner

you can download it for FREE at www.filehippo.com

You should also have adaware, spybot and AVG AntiSpyware to keep spyware off your computer. They are free too.

It wouldn't hurt to do a FREE scan at www.pandasoftware.com

Then do a disk defrag (Start, All programs, accessories, system tools, disk defrag.)

Hope this helps
