Its up to you how many people--probably around a dozen is in my comfort level, and depends how rowdy it could get, and what kind of people and what kind of activities.

The food has to have haupia, a coconut milk pudding made with cornstarch as thickener---but Jello jigglers with coconut flavoring and knox blox hardener is great also, and put in some condensed milk that also thickens and makes it a candy type of consistency, for no fail!

Also, check a recipe for chicken hekka, with long rice, green onions, garlic and ginger and chicken of course. Easy to make, good to do ahead of time....

Shishkabobs are good on the barbie as well, with pineapple, and beef chunks, colored peppers, mushrooms, etc. Can do ahead, and marinate in a tupperware overnite in teriyaki sauce.

Have to have a diced tomato salad with green onions and salted salmon diced with it. A lot of people who eat poi like to eat it with the "lomi lomi salmon" as that is saltyish, and the poi if fresh can be bland.

If you serve chicken hekka or beef teriyaki in thin strips (soaked overnite) just a BIG pot of plain rice goes over well.

Try pineapple upside down cake for a little Island flavor, and of course have paper leis (crepe paper) or do finger crochet with yarn or ribbon to have cheaper, easy plentiful leis. Remember May Day is Lei Day in Hawaii.

As for games, try the Limbo! Lifesavers being passed on a toothpick on a relay competition is always an eye opener, and gets the teens in the jitters with the opposite sex!!!

Have fun and aloha.
