It won't kill it, but it may not meet it's nutritional needs in the long run either.

It would be okay to use in the short term (if you run out of goldfish food), but you can also mix them with fresh foods that are appropriate for a goldfish any leafy greens for roughage, peas, oranges, etc.) If you bought the wrong kind of food and already opened it, you can get regular goldfish food and either mix or alternate them at feeding time.

Feeding a gold fish tropical fish food will not kill it. The only problem is the nutrition that the food contains. The tropical fish food will probably not keep your goldfish healthy if continuously fed. You may want to get yourself some goldfish food for him/her. But as with most other fish, goldfish prefer a varied diet. Supply goldfish with some sort of veggie and also try frozen food such as frozen blood worms. You may get freeze-dried food but only feed as a treat as it is very poor in nutrition.

No way Jose' It's almost impossible to kill a gold fish LOL. Feeding it tropical food will defiently NOT kill him. Feeding too much food yes but not feeding tropical food. 100% guarantee. I have 5 clown loaches, 4 red tailed silver barbs, 6 tiger barbs, 3 yo yo loaches, 2 polka dot Burmese Border loaches, 2 plecostumus, 5 Australian rainbows, 1 striped peacock eel, and 1 African Albino underwater frog. and I keep a few gold fish in there as food. They eat the tropical food just fine

Goldfish have special nutritional requirements that can't be met from tropical fish food. They need more carbohydrates which is why they eat a different kind of food. It's like a human eating dairy all day long.... you miss out on necessary carbs and don't get proper nutrients. Do your fish a favor and go spend the extra $4 for goldfish flakes.

Your goldfish will be fine for a while eating tropical fish food. However I would suggest that you start feeding goldfish food to your goldfish as soon as you can.
