ammonia, NH3, is a gas found in smelling salts. It has no charge. It is very soluble.
Ammonium is a positive ion, NH4+,it is part of a compound. In water NH3 dissolves and reacts with water to produce NH4OH, a base
iodine is an element. It is diatomic, found as I2, t i a purple crystal at room temerature and a purple gas just bove that. It dissolves readily in alcohol making the brown liquid tincture of iodine.
iodide is the negative ion I-, iodine readily combines with elements in column 1 forming a salt. It takes an electron.

Ammonium, NH4+, is a positive ion formed from ammlonia, NH3, accepting a proton from an acid:

NH3 + HCl ===> NH4+ + Cl-

Iodide is a negative ion formed from iodine's accepting an electron from a reducing agent:

I + e- ===> I-

Ammonia (NH3) is a distinct chemical substance.

Ammonium (NH4+) is an ion, it exists in conjunction with negative ions.

You can make pure ammonia, there is no such thing as pure ammonium. It would have to be something like pure ammonium chloride (NH4Cl)
