You don't. You get yourself out there and noticed so they come to you. All record labels have a policy against accepting unsolicited material, so if you send them your demo, it will be tossed in the garbage.

If there's a radio station that plays unsigned acts, get your material on the radio. Otherwise, play every club that will have you - don't turn down a gig unless you ABSOLUTELY must.

Put your stuff on myspace - a lot of acts are getting noticed there too.
