I like this question because there are a lot of people that seem to think they know all the answers when truly nobody really knows for certain how old the earth or universe are. I cannot tell you how old I think either are but I don't believe that science has all the answers up to now anyway, maybe in the future but with todays scientific knowledge it is just too vague for me. I don't believe the big bang theory. I don't believe that a massive meteorite destroyed the dinosaurs. I think the universe is a lot larger than anyone can even imagine. I do believe scientists have got it right that there will be a planet out there somewhere with some type of life on it intelligent or otherwise. I think our known dating of human history is wrong. I think that evolutionism and creationism are both incorrect but have no clue as to an alternative. I also think the carbon dating system is flawed but that is just my opinion based on a feeling not on any real evidence. My political affiliation is non existent, always has been and probably always will be.

The earth is around 5 billion years old. The Universe is much older. No one knows for sure but estimates I have heard is about 10 to 20 billinon earth years. Scientists are now looking for the source of the big bang and how long ago it may have happened.

Democrat

The Earth is about 4.5 to 5 billion years old. The Universe is about 12-15 billion years old. These are pretty basic and commonly accepted scientific facts.

I am a conservative that does not affiliate himself with either party. I am also a graduate physics student, so this question is quite trivial.

earth - old as dirt
universe - infinite
political affiliation - right wing independent, can't bring myself to vote Democrat except local anyway, so a reluctant Republican you might say.

I think the Earth and the universe are as old as they are...no matter what the answer is, I am a born again Christian whose faith does not depend on the particular answer
