Because the animals get too fat and lazy to hunt for their own food. They forget how. Then they get angry and dangerous if their rations need to be cut. In fact, they will only demand more and more and more and more. They will kill to take what they feel they're entitled to. Wild animals are dangerous when given too much for nothing.

Cook someone a fish they have a meal. Teach someone to Fish they will be able to feed themselves for a life time.

Receiving Money or Goods with out Earning is short lived Earning for Money or Goods Will last much longer.

Never seen Faces of Death when that bear rips the guys arm off while he was hand feeding it from his car. It shows the bear running away with the dudes arm in its mouth.
I was unfortunate to have a roomate in the Army that had to watch every episode of Faces of Death.
