please explain how to do it

(n+6/n-2) + (-8/n-2)


(2y+1/3y-2) + (4y-5/3y-2)

n/8 + 3n/8 =

4n / 8 =

n / 4

1. 1n+3n=4n/8 then divide by 4 since there's a common number so answer=n/4

2. n+6/n-2 +-8/n-2 since the bottom is the same, add the top. answer: n-2/n-2 cancels out.

3. since the bottom is the same, add the y's and numbers answer: 6y-4/y-2

the largest number gets the sign. (for instance +1 and -5 = -4 (first put the sign then subtract . - and + is subtraction, + and + is adding and - and - is adding as well. keep that in mind.)
