how to breed gourami's?

just bought two gouramis and would like to know if enyone knew how to breed them.thanks for your time

This will depend a little on the type of gourami you have. As PeeTee said, a good book will help you most, so you can find information on the species you have.

Copper and Tee are on top of this pretty good, and I'd just like to suppliment thier information. I have four Lavendar Gourami, two Giants, two Dwarfs, One moonlight, and two Corals. Sex differeniting is the first thing I'd do. Typically though not all Gourami follow this pattern, but the males have a much longer dorsal fin that extends to the point it touches thier tail fin, as well as being slimmer in body. The females have a shorter rounded dorsal fin that does not come near the tail fin and have a very rounded mid section that people who don't know about Gourami would swear they are about to explode or be pregnant. MOST of the Gourami are bubblenest builders. You can do a species look up to see what kind of Gourami you have and the specifics on how they breed by doing a goggle search. Pictures of them would help. If you had pictures of your Gourami, I'd be happy to look them up for you.
