my mom was showing me some pics on her computer and all of the sudden the keyboard and mouse stopped working. we tried unplugging them then plugging them back in but they still won't work. what would cause this and how to i fix it when i can't use mouse or keyboard. all i can do is turn the computer on and off by hitting the button.

because my PC was full of viruses and spy ware thank Toni again for spending last night getting this thing up and running. PS if my sims2 neigborhood is empty I gonna make you come over here and fix it. LMAO tell Toni thanks again

Man most of the time Logitech and other hadware accesories do that. The best way to fix the problem is by trying to connect another keyboard and mouse to the computer and setting the old one as a fauty.
Most of the time the problem isn't that at all. The system could have regitered it as a "virus alter"- which means that this will automatically disconnect the affected port(s). My advice to you man, is to get the accesories form the main company or try to get one that has benn tested to the capabilty to go through these things.

Try to enter BIOS by pressing F1 or Del before Windows start to load. If it works, your keyboard is OK but your operating system is not. Try pressing F8 before Windows start loading, then enter Safe Mode. Do a system restore.
If you can not enter Safe Mode and you are using Win XP, you could consider repairing it with this:

If you can not even enter BIOS because F1 or Del does not work, you may have a hardware problem. Try using a different keyboard. If it does not work, it is a motherboard problem.

appears like an even bigger project than your mouse and keyboard. in case you could't see something on the show screen that's particularly some a number of issues. visual show unit, snap shots card, power grant, motherboard, difficult stress, etc...
