I live in Florida and have a 2-park pass so I've been to both of them and well, I'd say Universal because Islands of Adventure is based on thrill rides and your not going to take a 1 year old on the Hulk. Universal on the other hand has softer rides as well as extreme rides. They have E.T., Jimmy Neutron, Shrek 4-D, and tons of other ones that won't scare your child.

Islands of Adventure is really geered towards adults and older children. As an adult (or someone trying to resemble one), I had a blast at IoA but I can't see enjoying it with a small child.
Universal Studios has more attractions that you can take a small child into.
Have fun!

I don't know what the difference is. But isn't taking a 1 year old to anything like this alittle too much?? Take him/her to a place like that when they are old enough to enjoy it and remember it.

Neither. There's not much for that age at either one. Try Disney World instead.
