How High Will Gas Prices Rise This Summer?

Gasoline prices, already flirting with $3 a gallon and going higher, could this be another SURGE for Bush and his corporate pals?

The price at the pump is definitely going higher. The question is whether prices will merely breach $4.00-$4.25 per gallon or will they go stratospheric? Thank goodness Congress hasn't acted on the Boone Pickens natural gas plan for heavy vehicles. Converting heavy vehicles to run in American natural gas would reduce the demand for imported oil, save tens of thousands of dollars for heavy vehicle operators and require a private sector infrastructure buildout that would create thousands of construction and permanent jobs. The industry that should suffer the most is the US Congress, but as you can see doing nothing, waiting until crisises emerge and then doing nothing to solve the crisis (whether it's an energy, entitlement, or tax reform crisis) is a sure fire re-election strategy. How about we take this November as an opportunity to clear the decks of every single incumbent who is running for re-election? Maybe elect someone in November who isn't a complete and total shill for his or her party and preferred special interest. Let's take a chance on a new face who may not always have his or her hand out waiting for some vig in every single bill before casting a vote not on the merits but for what it may do for him/her and his/her re-election campaign. This November vote for someone else!

I am already paying $3.49 a gallon for regular. You have to think people have had enough. Most of the people I talk to say prices are manipulated for profits alone. When you look at the market and see the record profits one has to be offended by the greed. The people that this hurts are the poor and underprivileged.

Economist have already spoken that Americas fuel cost's will rise to over $5.00 a gallon. Here in Canada we still pay $.58-$.62 a Litre that is cheaper than what you all in America pay now. Canada is great!!! I'm sure glad I relocated when my General Motors plant closed up in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Flirting with $3 where you and I live, but flirting with $4 in CA and other places. I expect to be paying a dollar more than I am today, at some point this summer.

Gas is a necessity--if prices continue to go up people will continue to drive--they have to, they will cut back in other places like less going out to eat, less walmart, less summer clothes, smaller vacations, so it will hurt the economy everywhere, so if you think gas price surge is good for Bush you don't understand the economy at all.

The things I've been reading say $4/gal could very well be reality come summer.

Then if there's a hurricane or 2 (supposed to be an active season) that could go even higher.

Pretty soon I'm going to look into riding a hot air balloon to work!

I'm saying about... $3.50 here in Memphis. It's still down around $2.78 still, and that's including state and Federal tax on it.


It'll go up however much Bush wants it to, to tell you the truth. All he cares about is money. He holds stocks in some of the largest oil companies in the world, from what I understand. And it's Federal oil tax that's mainly paying for the war.

So, if Congress approves a set budget, who knows.
