Mark Cuban took a moribund franchise and turned them into a powerhouse. He's not the problem. They won 67 games in the regular season, so I don't think it's Avery's fault. I don't think they need to make wholesale changes. They ran into the worst possible team for them to play in the West, period. If you had to make a change on that roster, you need a lot of help at the center position, Dampier and Diop are both a collective suck-fest. They could also use some bench help as Stackhouse can't do it alone.

Mark Cuban selling a team would be nice but thats not the answer. Dirk should be traded to an eastern conference team and they need to get an up and coming star like Dwight Howard on the Mavs. Magic may be looking to trade for a better shot at a Eastern Conference title. Or they could get him help. Elton Brand could be a trade from the LA clippers. That would work great but, the Mav's are now a mediocre team in the west not the best any more. Something need to be done if they want to stay in championship form.

Avery Johnson is a good coach and has made them tougher but even he couldn't make the soft mavs playoff tough.
Dirk no-win-zki is to blame as he was pathetic all series and did next to nothing
I'm glad this happened as I knew the mavs were not a championship team and didn't want them to get a ring.
Cuban won't sell the team though and he likes these soft players so he'll keep them around and the mavs will have good regular seasons before sputtering in the playoffs.
Good learning experience for Avery but he's the only one who will improve out of this combo. Cuban will continue to make excuses and dirk will cry some more and try to avoid this topic coming up until the next time he chokes

I'm ALL for getting rid of Mark Cuban. there is NO reason on earth why he should be able to act like such a poor sport with players, coaches, and teams in the NBA. As for Avery....I think he's doing a good job. Just get rid of the owner!

A combination of Players and Owner. Cuban is an asshole who's put way too much into Dirk who's known to choke under pressure. He got rid of Nash and he went on to become a 2 time MVP, got rid of Nelson who in the next season turned Dallas' franchise history season (67 wins) into a NBA history making season (1st 1 seed to be bumped out the playoffs by an 8th seed in a 7 game series). WELL DONE CUBAN.

Well, the problem is definitely not the coach!! He was a San Antonio Spur!! So you know he does things right!! It is probably a little bit of the owner and players. They should probably put Nowitski on the bench as coach and have Avery show them how to play!! LOL

The Warriors, since the trade, and at full strength, are a very strong team. Look at their record since the trade, and since J Rich and Baron Davis returned.
Maybe the Mavs just aren't as good as the Warriors.
So what can they do to get better?
Play Stackhouse more. He did very well against the Warriors.
Don't rely on Dirk so much.
Mix it up on offense. A combo of three's and driving inside.

with slightly of luck very few roster adjustments. they are respectable adequate to advance from interior of. And besides, who really predicted Kidd to reason them to a championship immediately away? I didnt. Its very demanding to study an finished team once you play the point. I wager they're going to be way extra efficient next 12 months even as Kidd has extra experience.

The Nash, Nowitzki combo was pretty cool, and seemed to work pretty well. But when Dallas had that combo, wasn't Antwan Jamison just sitting on the bench? They could've thrown him in there, dude's a beast.
