because, not EVERY teen doesn't do their homework. the ones that do, go to college and make 6 figures a year, the i usually see at mcdonald's or hear of them going to the public aid office constantly, or are in jail, or mooch off mom and dad, ya know idiot stuff. and as mean as that sounds, and i know that just because you don't do your homework doesn't mean you're stupid, but yeah. the grades come from the work, the work proves your smart, smart people (or just those with a descent memory and can follow the rules and take commands and just play smart) go to college, people who go college have fun, and met people, and learn relevant issues (unlike alot of high school cirriculums have), and then they get good jobs, and have kids they can support, and a few perks in life and yeah, live longer from less stress sometimes even. they can fullfill their wants and goals and desires, like eating at mcdonald's instead of living from pay check to pay check while you work there... homework bites, money doesn't

THEY aren't wasting time.....YOU are. As a student, it is your RESPONSIBILITY to do the work that you are assigned. Being a student and doing your work is your JOB. Do you think that your teachers have so much extra time in their life to just make up assignments for the heck of it? There is a reason for anything they assign you. They have families and hobbies and stuff too and I'm sure they would rather be doing something else sometimes, but many of them spend time after school working on assignments, grading papers, etc. Show some respect for your teachers and some responsibility for your own education. And be sure to tell your teachers "thanks for all you do" next week when it's National Teacher Appreciation week.

some day you will wish that you did all that homework so you would be smart and have a decent job. The towns where I am give out detentions and expel you when you do not do homework

Because in most towns a good 80-95% of people in schools do their homework. Besides, that's the only thing that ever makes us learn, or at least makes us keep it in our heads.

Go watch are you smart than a 5th grader, it dosen't matter later in life.

Just basic math skills, launage and spelling skills, science and history don't matter, basic health is important. Realy depends if you want to be something like a scientist or something.

Your supposed to do the homework! Its to actually see if you;re learning or not. Some people freeze up on test, so homework is more laid back. =)

Emily, it's called reinforcement.

They want us to be sure we know the material.

And I left some stats work in my locker. Damn.

Maybe if you did your homework you would learn to write better.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!!

Your poor teachers must be wondering why they went into the teaching profession.

It seems dumb now...but you'll really be glad you did your homewrok when you're older and need to rely on this information to help you get through life. You want to be smarter than a fifth-grader!

It's pretty obvious that you don't do your homework, since you can't spell and have no clue how to write. Fortunately you'll only need to learn one sentence for your future career: "You want fries with that?"
