The blower for the air coditioner was not blowing air. I checked the fuse (it was fine) and replaced the Motor Blower Resistor. It still does not work. Someone suggested the air conditioning needed recharging. How does one go about doing that or does it have to be taken to a mechanic?

The a/c charge should not affect whether the blower fan works or not otherwise the fan would not work with just the heater on. Best thing to do is run a jumper wire from the battery to the fan motor directly and see if it works. If not, it's a bad fan motor... If it does run you'll have to determine why it's not getting power through the circuit. Get a 12 volt test light and test for power starting with the dash switch which then sends power through the fan resistor to the motor for low speeds and through a relay for high speed. Go to www. wirediagram.com...for 4.00 you can access a wiring schematic for your vehicle. And also check to make sure you have a good ground on the motor by clipping a jumper wire to the ground terminal of the motor if it has one or the metal body of the motor and then to a clean metal part of the engine or the negative post of the battery.
People sometimes forget that a bad ground can stop things from working as well as no power.
Good luck, Paul

you can recharge it yourself with a charge kit, cost about 40$. Sold at most Auto stores, Wal Mart and Target also carry them.

I would recommend a mechanic if you don't really know what you are doing though
