This isn't a bash Bush post.. but realistically speaking his numbers are low... so do you think he will opt not to give support to any candidate (somehow I doubt that.. it would be odd for the president not to pick someone to support.. even if he waits till after the primary and just supports his party member).. but do you think this will help or hurt who he supports?

thank you for civil answers.

Hilary Clinton. Just to make it fun,

Bush - Clinton - Bush - Clinton.

Him showing support for a certain candidate would only hurt the candidate.

Think about it; you're watching the TV and it goes to a special report where the President says, "I support ___________ as my successor...". That right there ruined any of their chances, because that means that person and Bush has common ground.

But I honestly doubt a Republican gets the White House in 2008. Not after (then) 8 years of Bush.

If I were a true conservative running for the Republican nomination, I would want to put as much distance between myself and President Bush as possible.

He had a chance to come in strong (with tax cuts & other good legislation), but really ended up dropping the ball with the War on Terror.

Just one man's civil opinion...

As a conservative, I think Bush should remain out of the upcoming election, or, throw his support behind (torpedo) the Democrat nominee.

He mentioned months ago Hillary is going to be a formidable candidate, sounds like they have already conceded the election

Due to liberal media bias, his support of a candidate right now could only hurt that candidate.

It could. Look what happened to Al Gore when Clinton backed him. He was a sore on the back of Gore. Made me real happy.lol
