You won't regret it!
I've had personal experience with this & believe me you will DOUBLE your miles per gallon. You may also want to check out the Ford Escape Hybrid. It is a little cheaper & just as nice.
Remember also that you can still get a LARGE federal tax incentive on these.
You should also check out hybridcars.com for tips on how to get the best gas mileage out of the Ford Hybrid Escape (same vehicle as Mercury Mariner Hybrid) Some peeps are consistantly getting 40-45 mpg !

Not me though....I get 28 mpg, ('07 Hybrid Escape 4X4) but I drive like a COMPLETE idiot! Best mileage I ever got befor in an SUV was 13.9 .....(my fault, not the vehicle's) ! I never bothered to try the techniques listed in the above link. I'm always in much-too-much of a hurry...LOL

And GO DRIVE ONE !
They are REALLY fun to drive !
They are MUCH peppier than their "specs" would leave you to believe.

Oh yea, there's FMCC incentives for you too!

The 2008 mercury mariner hybrid would be your best bet but I have checked with many mechanics at may dealerships and for the most part they regret seeing a hybrid coming in for service.

They first don't know that much about repairing them and second they know that you can be killed if you should forget the simplest detail while working on these vehicles.

Use caution and care because these vehicles are not meant to be worked on by the average joe or your next door neighbor.

I have two family members that own Edges, and both are extremely happy with their purchases. I'd buy the Edge because it was rated as more reliable than the Murano by every major reliability and quality report. You can also get a better deal on the Edge. I think Ford is offering a pretty good financing rate on it at the moment as well. Plus I'm not too fond of the murano's front end, I think the Edge looks better.
