For the person who said nipple stimulation. Will it work using a breast pump? I heard it causes contractions and makes them stronger. I've been having contractions for the last week and a half and then some. I'll be no closer to having a baby than I was 2day.

An internal exam worked for me...Have you tried a another hospital in a neighbouring city. 15 days is a long time, and recent studies have shown that the placenta starts to break down after about a month over due. I would get on your doctor ( as I am sure you are already) and try to find another hospital and maybe another doctor. I bet if you went to another town and found a doctor they would induce you that day!

don't try the oil! it doesn't work and it will make you sick.

I did a lot of cleaning around the house while waiting...vacuuming and up and down the stairs helped me. Any movement will help.

I am sorry your having such a rough time...I have NEVER heard of a hospital that backed up. That is awful! Just hang in there and do what you can around the house...keep trying the sex too.

I do agree with some of the other gals..your due date is probably off...I don't see how any doctor could let you go that far overdue. It isn't healthy for you or the little one.

Do NOT use castor oil! You don't want to ingest anything that can cause your baby to have a bowel movement--it can be very dangerous.

I'm really shocked that you're over two weeks late and they won't induce you--that's as far as I've ever heard of a doctor letting someone go. I would really start to be a pain with your doctor's office and demand the induction. The risk of stillbirth goes up when you are that far overdue.

I can't believe they have let you get this far overdue. You need to tell your doctor you want an induction now, before your child is at risk. Anything over 42 weeks can be dangerous for you and the baby. Put your foot down and don't let up. This is your baby and you have to make it happen. I would be finding another doctor if you ever decided to have anymore children.

Sorry you're in that situation. I had a friend in that same situation last week. The hospital had a waiting list for the maternity ward! All scheduled inductions were put off. Luckily for her, she went spontaneously two days later. The baby won't stay in there forever. It will come. DO not drink castor oil. It's bad bad bad. Try anything else but castor oil. Best of luck.

Well, actually, sex worked for me. Contractions started right after and didnt stop til baby was here!

Look up blue or black cohosh. I dont remember which one is supposed to help induce labor, but my friend used it. Its just an herb. Also, when it comes to due dates, a doctor can be as much as two weeks off in either direction. In reality, you may only be one day overdue. Keep that in mind. Good luck!

Well you already know all the "supposibly tricks to go into labor" so Im not gonna repeat them. Everyone already wrote them.
But just to tell you my friend was over due and she went to the hospital and almost fought the nurse to induce her! lol. the nurse kept saying NO and she fought her way to it and they listened! That same day, she was induced and had her baby! So you should definetly go back to the hospital and make them do it! Remember, after a certain time, that baby needs to come out and 15 days is ALOT of be over due! Dont let them tell you what to do, YOU TELL THEM! Its your baby and if you are 2 freaking weeks over due, then you have a RIGHT TO BE INDUCED RIGHT AWAY! for safety! Goodluck!

They should not be making you waite to induce you! After being 42 weeks, the placenta becomes less effective at it's job, the baby can poop in you which can cause all kinds of problems for you and baby;they need to get the baby out for it's well being and yours! Insist on being induced and let them know if something happens to you or your baby, you will take legal action! Good luck!

My son was due the 8th december and he decided that the 25th december would do just as good. Its really up to the baby, make sure you keep the drs appointments and be ready at all times. Or you could do what i did prepared a meal for the full family (16) and then the "darling" decided it was time. Good luck!

When my mom was 2 weeks overdue with me she finally went into labor mowing the lawn.

I've heard that there's a type of massage that can bring on labor so you might want to do a search for that on the internet.
