Yes, but I did something even worse the other day! Some pervert was waving at me and my friend from his car and saying a bunch of filthy things, which I didn't hear because I was listening to music. He was in a car just like another one of my friend's cars and he looked a little like my friend too (I didn't have my contacts on!).
Anyway, imagine my friend's (the one I was walking with) shock when I started waving and shouting: 'Hi! How are are you?!' and even walked over to his car. Only, when I got to the car, I realised there was some disgusting guy, and not my friend, leering at me, looking pretty pleased.....eurgh. I then had to casually walk away, back to my very confused and disgusted friend

Yes. The eye direction is very deceiving. But you don't need to be embarassed. The person probably waving didn't even take it personally, so it's just you feeling bad about it.

Yup. Same as waving to someone who, from a distance looks like a friend, who turns out to be a total stranger.

lol yes. it's also happened that someone thought i was talking/waving to this when i wasn't. i normally just laugh it off and tell them "well, i was waving to the person behind you, but hello to you anyway. how are you?".

when i do it, i make a joke of it.

Worse! Someone I didn't know was walking towards me, with a big smile, looking right into my eyes, and talking. I couldn't exactly hear what they were saying, so I stood still, and waited for them to get closer. I said, "What? I didn't hear you." They looked at me like I was crazy, and ran around me, to the person behind me.

I'm kind of a loner on campus and when I was walking to my car I was looking down kind of and some guy who is walking in front of me says "Why do you look so sad" I said " WHO me, I'm not......... Then he swivels around me and smacks hands with his buddy and asks if hes taken a test yet. I kept walking, actually i walked a little faster. Soo embarrassing.

Yes, and it is embarrasing, especially when you wave to a hot girl and she doesn't wave back.

I wouldn't worry about it, truly it happens to everyone. It's happen to me several times. True I was alittle embarrassed, but just smile and move on. It just shows your a friendly person.
