If so, could you tell me a little about it. Do you think that it would be more or less difficult than Finite Math or Pre-Cal Algebra? I am not studying to be a teacher, but I have the option to take this class instead of the latter two. Also, I will have to take this online, so i am aslo hoping to take the option that will be best suited for independent study.

Here is the course description for it from my college:

Advanced Mathematics for Teachers. 3 Semester Hours. (Lab fee.) (Cannot be used to satisfy requirement for upper-level mathematics elective.) Prerequisite: At least one college-level mathematics course. Develops greater mathematical skills and insight. Introduces student to topics in numeration systems, elementary number theory, problem solving, introduction to probability theory, statistics, and geometry.

Pre-calc and Finite Math are a little more specific fields. This Advanced Math for Teachers would be a little more broad. However, then you'd be expected to pick up on a lot of different topics in the course.

I don't know your history with math, so I can't tell you what would be easier to take.

It depends on your state. Most areas you need a bachelors degree and you have to pass a test proving proficiency in your major. Then, you complete a year of licensing classes and "how to teach" stuff. To teach high school math, you will need TONS of math classes, some VERY advanced. In my state, the test to become a math teacher is described as "worse than any math test I have ever seen, even harder than getting into a masters degree program"

If you will take it online, I am ready to help you with everything.
I will wait for your math questions.
