My daughter is six months old, 24" tall and 12 pounds. She is healthy, just very petite. Strangers think she is three months old or younger. Anyone else have tiny babies?

She was born at 19" and 7 lbs, 2 oz... just growing slowly, but surely. She still wears 0-3 clothes!

She is small, but her height and weight are proportional to each other. She is in the 5th percentile for both.

i have 6 month old twin girls. and they are 14 pounds and 14 pounds 1 ounce. ppl think they are only about 3 months as well. the other day i had an old friend over and the girls were crawling around. yep they just started crawling. yay!! but anyways she saw them and asked and i quote "Aren't they too young to be crawling yet? They're only like what? 3 months?" but nope they are 6 months and very tiny as well. it is quite a bonus having little babies. it is cheaper to clothe them. they stay in one size for a while. good luck with the tiny tot.

You think your daughter is tiny 24" tall and weighs 12 lbs? As a mother we all get concerned, and if I was you I would be concerned a little about the weight 12 pounds is a little under weight for a 6 month old so you should talk with her practioner to make sure that everything is okay. My 2nd daughter at birth was weighing 7 lbs 15 oz and she was and still is a healthy child but the main concern for me is her height. She's a little under average size, she's 25" tall and weighs 26 lbs, & she's 2 and a half-my son is one years old and weighs the same as her & 24" tall which he is almost reaching her. I'm 5'1 tall & hubby 5'10 so we're not so tall, so I guess it has something to do with us too. If doctor say she's fine then you shouldn't worry but its kind of cute to have a petite baby.
Good luck!

My son is 7 months old and only 15 pounds. Some babies are just small, and others are just big. As long as she is healthy, growing, and seems to be developing at a normal rate, so what if she is petite. Are you petite too?

I was 7lbs 1oz at birth, but at 1 1/2 years I weighed 16 lbs. I was very healthy though. I think if your daughter is healthy and thriving then that is a more important indicator than her height and weight.

Dont listen to these people who dont know how to mind their own business. My baby was 5lbs. 8ozs. 18 in And perfectly healthy. Listen to your instincts you will know what is best. If you feel that your baby is just petite then that is probably the case. If your doctor says everyhting is ok then enjoy your baby and dont let those people bother you. Because eventually they will drive you crazy and make you stress both of which the baby can sense and is very unhealthy.
