Slugger, The Hammer, Super Glue (for a kid who never misses a fly ball), Big Mac, The Hustler, The Rocket (for apitcher or good thrower), The Toaster (a kid that gets the most outs for the team), or you can make nickname from their names. Here's a page of examples:

Nicknames need to be organic, they come over time and experience. If you just make them up after the fact they have no meaning. I coach a little league team and of the 12 we have 6 that have nicknames that just sort of happened.

Wheels -he's fast
Vader -he uses the force (used to be ObiWan but he turned to the dark side)
Mr. 21 -got 21 hits in a row
Clutch -only gets hits with runners in scoring position
Ry-Dog -no good reason
Big T -biggest kid in the league

If you haven't called a kid by the nickname all or most of the season then don't put it on the trophy.

I used to coach little leaguers that age. They like nicknames of big leaguers that they know or of older guys nicknames they've heard before. Some examples:

The Big Hurt: for a big home run hitter
The Crime Dog: could work for either the best base stealer or the person who 'steals' hits from the other team while playing in the field
Charlie Hustle: for obvious reasons
The Rocket or The Big Unit: for a hard throwing pitcher
Wild Thing: my personal favorite, for the crazy kid who keeps everyone laughing (every team has one)
Golden Glove: for anyone good in the field
Or when a player reminds you a lot of a major leaguer call them by the pros first name (i.e. we had a kid who was good at first base, and at the time lyle overbay played for the Brewers, they played alike, so the kid garnered the name "Lyle")

Kid's will keep their trophies for ever (or until their Mom's throw them out when they are in College!). Hope this helps.

if this nickname is to be part of his real name i don't think it should be on the trophy - like lenny 'nails' dykstra - if he has a nickname now then that is a different story but to just make one up is not a good idea
