It's the team that wins the series between the Spurs and the Suns. No offense to the Piston fans, their a marvellous team but if you compare them to the Suns or Spurs their fire power is not enough and with the lost of Ben Wallace the defense that they have been relying for a few years has diminished significantly. Remember that Ben Wallace is a multiple defensive player of the year awardee. The Pistons have "good" offense and defense but if matched against the Suns "very good" offense their not gonna win. Compared to the "very good" defense of the Spurs and very methodical offense, the Pistons will not win against the Spurs. Bottom line is, the NBA championship trophy will be in Arizona or Texas.

Pistons or spurs defense always prevails 9 times out of 10

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Cleveland-Houston Finals if Houston can beat Utah in Game 7 (a home game for Houston, which bodes well for them). Phoenix and San Antonio have to play against each other in the second round (ironic how the playoff format changes were supposed to prevent the 2 best teams in a conference from playing each other in the second round... but with Golden State's victories over Dallas, that's exactly what's going to happen out West), as do Detroit and Chicago (in a matter of opinion, since I think Chicago's better than Cleveland, the playoff format changes ended up doing nothing to prevent last season's "problem" from happening in BOTH conferences this season), which means the winners from those matchups could be exhausted while Cleveland should have little trouble with New Jersey (or Toronto, should the Raptors beat the Nets in 7) and Houston should have little trouble with Golden State.

In such a Finals, I would take Houston in 5 games because Yao would dominate the paint. The LeBron vs. T-Mac matchup in that series would be worth watching, but LeBron won't be able to win a title without Ilgauskas holding his own against Yao (look above to see if I think that can be done).

Of course, I can't count out the eventual winners of the SA-Pho and Det-Chi matchups because the winning teams will then know how to deal with a long and grueling series. While Cleveland-Houston might make more fans tune in than SA-Det would, I also wouldn't be surprised to see the Spurs in the Finals against either Detroit or Chicago (preferably the Bulls).

At this point, only Golden State or Utah in the NBA Finals would surprise me out West and only the winner of Nets-Raptors in the Finals would surprise me out East.

My best bet's Phoenix! They might not have the best record in the league, but they sure can play with heart!!

But I can't count out the possibility that they'll lose in the Finals matchup..

All i know is that I'm around 98% positive they'll be on the western branch of the Finals playoff tree/..

GO PHX!

Spurs vs Pistons

Spurs in 7

Suns are essentially the Mav's, they play soft. Spurs are the only team in the west that can play the physical game.

The Suns. Everyone is healthy. Dallas is out. They have the best rotation is all of basketball. Nash knows that this is the best shot he will ever get at a championship. This team can not and will not be stopped.
