Did you click the plus signs next to the items that had the yellow question marks in the device manager? The question marks can come up when something was installed twice (whether you meant to or not). If you see two of the same thing, highlight one of them and click the uninstall button up toward the top.

It is completely normal for you to have the "yellow question marks" on several devices after a fresh installation of XP.
That is because Windows only comes preloaded with certain drivers. Other drivers need to be installed after you have loaded XP. The Yellow question marks mean that there are no drivers loaded for these devices.
You need to go to ECS's website and download all the drivers for that motherboard(com ports). Then you need to install the modem drivers (PCI Communication Device).
The floppy should have default drivers, so the floppy drive may be failing.
On to the next problem, the computer crashes, and then will not boot until you reinstall windows.
What does it say when it does not boot?
Where does it freeze?
How does it crash when it is turned off?
Give us more details about what happens when it won't boot.

You may think you have reinstalled, but in fact, you have a lot more work to do. I suggest you contact Microsoft for help/and or call your computer manufacturer. If this doesn't work, I will assist you. What is happening is that you have not installed the drivers. They are on the hard drive but must be located and extracted from the zip file and then installed. I just went through this nightmare. Good luck.

If your computer is less than a year old, contact the manufacturer. If over a year old and you don't have an extended warranty, you might have to take it for repairs. Other things you can try,1) hook the phone cable directly to the computer,,,,2) unplug your modem, the router, and shut down the computer for about 15 seconds, start the computer, and the others, see if this helps,,,3) by pass the router, and if those things don't help, call the phone company. If nothing is resolved, call the manufacturer. Good luck, I would be lost without mine.

also you should do these things often
In Internet explorer at top of window select tools - then delete browser history - then another box will open - select delete all- this will not remove your book marks -Then close explorer then open again .At first pages will be slow once and then will load fast after it loads 1 time. Also email etc you will have to sign in 1 time with pass word etc.
This will create new cookies.
Also go to start at bottom of on task bar.click start 1 time then select find or search depending on your operating system.Select all files and folders - then type in defrag and click search. When icons come up double click and new box will come up - select analyze then you will see how fragmented you are - then choose defrag. You can put this program on your desk top by right clicking on the icon you found in search for defrag.Right click choose create short cut. This will put a short cut on your desk top. Then you can use as needed in future.

curiously the computing gadget does choose a finished gadget fix (ie homestead windows putting lower back on) I propose you lower back up all information which you would be able to onto a disc, in case you cant then unfortunatley the works dommed! homestead windows discs arent low-value there around £a hundred and eighty (mine replaced into for xp i dont comprehend on the subject of the early variations) in case you will come across a severe-high quality individual in the paper who provides to restoration desktops he will positioned a compy on for you at a fragment of the cost however the homestead windows discs are obtainable at laptop international and Staples.

Moshimos gave good info. but who uses floppy's anymore anyway ? if you know dos make sure ur booting from hard drive, if you dont know how ,,get help. Sounds to me like ur pc wants to boot from a disk, this is done in boot sequance. If set to boot from disk not hard drive , that is what would happen.

If you tic on the yellow triangles they will usually tell you what the problem is. I agree with the previous answer that you need to reload the drivers from ECS for your mobo.

Maybe it's time to get a new computer.
Probably want to get a new one soon anyway considering Vista just came out and you will probably want to upgrade to that at some point.
If you buy one it's probably best to get a dell. (but not a really cheap one)
