Ialways thought a free press meant a sense of balance and reporting the facts ,or is this to much to hope for under the future lord tony.Even Maggie got a fair hearing.

They should be reported of course but their propaganda still didn't work - the SNP smashed the 50 year old Labour hegemony and that is something to be happy about. Saor Alba!

Every news paper has an editorial bias, that's their privilege: the fact that you want to impose bans on the free press indicates to me that some elements in the SNP might prove antagonistic towards the freedom of speech enjoyed by the rest of the Union.

They're allowed to publish pieces giving the editorial position of the newspapers and stating which parties they support or oppose in an election. These items don't have to conform to any parity laws. Each paper has its own reasons for supporting Labour and opposing the SNP. They've done nothing wrong.

(In case you think I voted Labour, I voted SNP!)
