The ^ are idiots. First thing they do... Is get rid of Odom, he's a baller, but he's at a point in his career where his trade value is at it's peak. There is no way they will get Garnett. He just plain costs too much. They need to find a young, all around good point guard like a younger JKidd, or a Chris Paul. And a mainstay big man who can run the pick and roll with Bryant. You build around your franchise players. The Lakers are somewhat young, they will only get better.

Assuming they don't make any trades, they go nowhere. There just isn't enough talent around Kobe to match up against the Suns, Spurs, or Mavericks. Even Golden State is more balanced than the Lakers. They NEED to make a trade, possibly for Garnett.

they go straight to jason kidd's door and beg him to play for them. they go apologize to baron davis because he was begging to be a laker and so was matt barnes. they promptly beat up mitch kupchak. tell him he's an idiot. trade bynum and some other guys and try to get the best guys they can and might have to ship off walton or lamar.
