Our government is taking away our rights, keeping us under serveillance, and goose stepping around the world killing people.

Just because we are a generous country and living a good lifestyle, does that mean we should ignore what's happening?

Because the rest of the world is not doing as well, is that justification for a rapacious government?

Yes it's terribly broken, but not irretrievably broken. We start by voting ALL politicians out of office regardless of party affiliation. Then we demand that laws be passed to eliminate lobbyists and corporate money in politics.

ummm NO,

although I do agree with you on certain points, The attempt to liken the country that my father, and grand fathers fought for to a Nazi like, father land is well.... ridiculous, you should look more closely at the freedoms we do have and remember the only people that can change any of this is us,

we have to stop publicly saying one thing and then privately doing another(I.E. complaining about the high price of gas, yet still driving the same S.U.V. that only gets 8miles to the gallon)

it would be insane to give up what we have for what we think is going to be better, but its never a good idea to have an inflexible bully style political views either

at the present our checks and balances are neither checking, nor balancing as they are still focused on the Dem's vs.Reps and not remembering the people that got them in power need them to do both there job and whats best for the country :)

It is neither broken or time to start over. I have had no rights taken away and if you have had some taken away you might want to hire a lawyer. I am proud to be a citizen of the US and thankful for our freedoms and opportunities. Look at the last question I posted and the answers. The vast majority agreed with me on this issue.
And, as for the surveillance, I know can see you now!!

I agree whole-heartedly, but how do we go about "starting over?" I think we need to start by taking the money out of government. How can any politician truly be serving The People when his true masters are his campaign contributors?

It's people like you that prove that most americans have taken the gift of living in america for granted. Just take a look at some of the other countrys and their policies and their supplies and see just what you have they don't and maybe you'll realize just how fortunate you are. For example, when you buy a new television, you pay for it and then you're done. In germany, you pay taxes for that television EVERY YEAR. That's what I call taking away somebody rights. Maybe you should stop looking at all the bad aspects of america and be grateful for what you have.

No, there's no need to scrap the Constitution and the rest of our laws. We just have to put new people into office who realize that our country must always operate under the rule of law.

I think we have the best government int the world. Has it occurred to you that your oppossition to "surveillance", and "[war]", or as I say fighting oppressive governments bent on destroying western civilization, is a minority thought? If it was what most people thought, then government would change. So, the problem must be you.
