Yes, all women who've had a baby will know that 40 weeks is the standard length of a pregnancy. Doctors consider 37 weeks full term, and will rarely try to stop a labor that occurs at 36 weeks.

Unfortunately, some of those people who answered the question took 36 weeks divided by 4 (weeks in a month) to get 9 months. However, because all but 1 month have more than 28 days in them, the actual length of an average month is about 4.345 weeks long, which is how those last 4 weeks get distributed across the nine months of pregnancy.

Anyhow, I'm sure that she was more than able to sift through all the rude and bogus answers to the really helpful information that her baby would most probably be fine if she were to go into labor and deliver at 36 weeks.

I agree, people can be really mean on here. Full term is 40 weeks but my OB said they would not stop my labor after 37 weeks, if I went early. I did at 37 almost 38 weeks.
In my honest opinion no one should be getting there medical advice from an online question an answer forum.
Good of you to defend the questioner though. - 10 points to you!

A baby can be full term after 36 weeks. My first child was born 35 weeks and 6 days and was considered a premie. my second child was born at 38 weeks and was considered full term. there are women that give birth at 42 weeks, so like i said after 36 weeks is full term.

Well technically pregnancy is determined by the last menstrual period which is two weeks before ovulation sooooo full term is 38 weeks and the two weeks are added on for the time frame from the last period to birth.

I cant say that i saw the question but it sounds like it could of been a dangerous answer. Some people unfortunately are a bit dim like that,I once knew a girl who took a dose of Castor oil at 36weeks just to be in hospital the same time as her friend who had just had a baby. Can you think of anything more stupid.
