Squirrels, like many animals, are curious about what goes on in the world around them. They are particularly social and communicative animals.
On the spiritual side of things: Animals often bring us messages. I believe in totems, animal spirits that come to us with help and protection. If you have a squirrel as a totem, it can mean several things. On the practical side: Unless he is actually looking at his own or some other reflection, then he's probably just wondering who you are and what you are doing. He may also be used to someone giving him food, in which case he's probably wondering when you are going to throw him some goodie.
If you do decide to feed him something, make it something natural, like unsalted nuts, or a piece of fruit. It's best not to feed them things like candies, pastries, anything with sugar in it especially.
And, although he's undoubtedly a cute little fellow, I'd advise not trying to touch him, or let him in. If he decides to he can give you a seriously nasty bite which could get infected. You also don't know what kind of disease he as a wild animal could bring in. And, once in he might be very hard to get rid of. Squirrels just love to tear things up to make nests!

It's possible that he can't see you. He may be looking at his own reflection in your window. In which case, he probably thinks hes very cute - or a threat. âº
