Sorry, Pip, science and religion do clash. You either believe in "Creationism" or Evolution.

Irregardless of what the maniacal Catholics think, you either believe one or the other. The Catholics really believe they control the Christian religion. However, it is no doubt their cult is out to create a reason to go to war with the Evangelical Christians. For years they have murdered the real Christians in Northern Ireland. They believe the priests can sexually abuse children and say a few Hail Mary's and all is well. However, they ruin the lives of innocence. Now they have a Nazi Pope that raised his right hand and swore allegiance to Hitler, the Anti-Christ. Just think about it; their church is built of a foundation of priests having homosexual relations with little boys. This is the honest truth and there are thousands of newspaper articles that support this statement.

With love in Jesus, minus that swastika Pope.

I can believe in evolution, but I don't get the hand of God connection with the Grand Canyon unless he thinks the Colorado River is the hand of God.

Yes, I remember that. I believe in small-scale evolution, it makes sense. However, to believe that bacteria grew into a fish, a fish into an amphibian, an amphibian into a reptile, a reptile into a mammal animal, a mammal animal evolving into a more advanced mammal animal, like a monkey, which evolved into us, well you have to have a whole lotta faith. God created the Earth, yes, Im sure he allowed small-scale evolution to occur and let nature have her way as well. McCain, Im not quite sure what he was trying to tell us.

If God created life, then I must be God, 'cause I have two kids ;-)

God created the processes through which all things come into being. He created the processes by which the Grand Canyon was produced.

However, strict creationism does not allow for that line of thinking.

I don't know about McCain for pres, but to answer you're question - yes, lots of people are what we call "old earth creationists" and believe that God used evolution as a tool of creation.

Also many "young earth creationists" fully recognize what they call "micro-evolution" but aren't ready to believe what they call "macro-evolution."

You can believe these things are mutually exclusive all you want - but that doesn't change the fact that many people are capable of believing both to one degree or another, and many people do.

If science and religion dont mix, then why do most scientists believe in a God that answers prayer?

Evolution isnt true sceince anyway. It is atheistic philosophy. Science cannot demonstrate, duplicate, nor adequately explain how we get life from lifelessness, nor how a species can morph into something completely different using minor variatian within species.

Plenty of Christians believe in theistic evolution.

I hate to burst your bubble, but Christianity is not a big cookie cut with a big cookie cutter.

My 93 year old grandmother, married to a Baptist minister, believed in theistic evolution.

Look it up.

No the two theories are not incompatible if you believe that God was the first cause of everything.

i think he was speaking more to the fact that things do evolve. all things do. he was not referring to humans evolving from some primordial muck. he is one of the most consistent and experienced people in the race. he will most likely end up as a v.p. candidate. good guy.
