seem so much cooler than english schools, like in movies they look so intresting with all the decorated lockers etc and the palm trees around them and just everything ???

It's Hollywood baby. Trust me, most American Schools are NOT like they are depicted on TV or in the movies. The palm trees? Well, let's just say that Southern California Schools are easier to access on tight budjets. I went to American Public School in Lake Tahoe, no palms there, but lots and lots of pine trees!
My lockers were crammed with crap and it was always so far away from my courses that I just went into apathy and started carrying ALL my books in my backpack to all my classes. Then I didn't have to worry any more about using it. At the end of the year it was like opening a time capsule! So that's where my -------- went!!!!

um....I really don't understand you're question but if you're asking what I think you're asking then they "dress up" the schools for movies. In real life American public schools aren't THAT great in terms of appearance. Although I don't really know what the schools look like in other states but in New York it's not that great. In California they might have schools like that, but those schools would be in expensive areas (in terms of tax), private schools, or a university "made" to look like a middle or high school for that movie.
In the end it all comes down to Hollywood. They'll do anything to make something look good! You can't believe everything they show you in movies. Of course I'm not telling you that all American movies or any other movie from any other country is a lie. I'm just saying that they do what they can to make certain things look good to keep the attention of the audience.

Haha maybe in the movies...most highschools do not have palm trees (unless lucky and living in southern california or hawaii) and are not that exciting to be honest...
