There must have an misunderstanding some where, ask her for explication, I'm afraid there is nothing to do just let time do the job, ignore her, keep good contact with your son that all.
if you do not need them, why bother????

Well, it would depend on the circumstance surrounding. Also, if you were visiting her in her home, she is entitled to do as she pleases, so how would she disrespect you, unless she said something to disrespect you. If that is the case, then let her know you are hurt and see if there is anything you have done to deserve it.

This happens with 2 women who have strong opinions about

1) who should have more access/attention/love/respect of the son/husband
2) how a home needs to be run and decorated
3) how the kids should behave

Now one tigress is infringing on another tigress' territory.

I honestly would let her know how rude and disprectful she was to you when you went to visit, and that trips to visits will probably no longer be and if they are, you will choose to not visit. Her husband should also step up to the plate with her and resolve the situation.

Confront her, tell her that just because she has a job, where you have to mean, doeesn't mean that she can be that way to her family.
