I need to make an image saved in 300 DPI. Is this the same thing that when you click on "new" it is under the resolution option? Or is it something else and how do I do this? Thanks a lot.

If you mean, changing the resolution, then hey! a photographer just taught me a new trick about "resampling"! Neat trick! I had some 72dpi photos (that's the way our digital camera's card downloads to the pc). She wanted one at higher res. All you have to do is change the resolution in Image --> Image size --> Resolution, being careful not to diddle the dimensions. At "Resample Image" below, choose "Bicubic Sharper".
