I was about 1 year old at the time. I was told that gas stations could only stay open for about 6 hours, and then you could only buy 8 gallons of gas. The lines were horrible.......

Gas shortage of the 70's? Sure I remember. Long lines, people stealing gas, locks on tanks. Ahhh the good old days of the Carter administration.

Sadly I am old enough to remember the oil crisis of the 70's when you had to go on odd or even days to get gas. You would have to wait in line a long time and this was before most cars had air conditioning and me and my sisters would be so hot in the car.

I certainly do. Gas topped $1, the old pumps couldn't handle that many digits, so they charged per half gallon. Lines were around the block. Road rage was replaced with gas station rage ... ooh those people would would cut in line ...

$3.35 (here in Nor. Calif.) doesn't sound so bad. Oh, yes it does.

I remember that. It was very strange, but I will go with strange if that means that we can have that cheap of gas again. (Not that it was bought because it was cheap, but compared to now it was :D)
