Yes, the magma development below Yellowstone, the same magma that cause the geysers like old faithful to go off are a very concern. There are two research groups located in Yellowstone to monitor the magma and the extent to which the magma lifts the earth's crust. It is a very serious concern. See:

According to those s-called Bible codes the Yellowstone Super Volcano or Caldera will erupt in or around September of 2009 thru 2010. The only ones who seem to be prepared are the scientists and those within our Government who have a place in the fallout shelters.Supposedly the worlds climate and growing seasons will also be greatly effected for many years. I'm prepared to watch it on cable.I don't really know where it will be safe for most other people in America because it would seem harder to predict where the fallout from this ash will be.Perhaps southeast or in South America would be safer. I'm pretty sure our scientists will report any activity long before this happens or within a reasonable amount of time. The History Channel has a documentary on this Caldera and possible scenario. So, I wouldn't go as far as to say any day now, but it would seem that we are overdue for it. Maybe this is the Biblical Beast the bible has mentioned which will be released etc. Interesting possibility though.

We vacationed in Yellowstone just last summer. It was interesting to learn about the giant hot spot underneath the tectonic plates that formed the volcanic caldera that is now Yellowstone National Park some 600,000 years ago.

The hotspot, however, is migrating slowly towards the northeast -- towards North Dakota, IIRC -- and is not expected to erupt for about another 600,000 years, so I think you can relax on that count.

If Yellowstone volcano happens, there well be over 100 years of warning first. The magma build-up will not happen any faster than that.

The answer is no. I mean I doubt it. If yellow stone were to erupt the best preparation would as a nation could have is evacuation and migration to the south.

It is hard to prepare for something that could happen any time between tomorrow and thousands of years from now. If you want to prepare for that you may as well prepare for meteors hitting your house and solar flares destroying the Earth's atmosphere because there is just as much to do about it in this case.
