It sounds like a yeast infection...yes, men get them too. Yeast infections are what causes jock itch & atheles foot. If you have nicked yourself while shaving or just got really irritated it can lead to a yeast infection. Next time, try trimming it really low without shaving all the way, this should prevent further problems.

1) stop shaving.
2) while it's growing in, use aloe vera gel (sold for sunburn relief) on it.
3) use some desitin or other jock itch cream
4) never shave again
When you shave, you not only damage the skin, you reduce air circulation. So the area stays moist, and bacteria and fungus move on in, getting an especially good hold because of the little cuts in the skin. Until the hair grows back, you may have to keep treating the jock itch, but once it's at a natural length, the itching should stop for good. Guys who don't shave seldom get these infections.

If you shaved it you just have razor bumps it will itch for a couple days but it'll go away. Next time shave with the growth. Not away.
If you didn't shave its might be because you have dry skin. Just apply some mositurizing lotion each day.
If you don't have dry skin just try laying down for a bit and put a cool/cold cloth on that region.
If its anything else consult a doctor and if it is something other than what I listed try not to scratch as it will spread whatever you may have.

try always using DOVE soap, it is the best for the personal areas, as it has the perfect PH for our skin.
It keeps you smelling fresher, not because of the scent of the soap but the PH level.
After shaving that area a few days later it will always itch some,
but the Dove soap works wonders.
It may feel like it is not rinsing off as well as other soaps but that is becasue it contains some cold cream and it is supposed to feel that way. Once you try Dove you won't want to use anything else. mamacar

People can contract pubic lice in many different ways. You may have used an infected towel or something. The easiest thing for you to do would be to shave all of your pubic hair. You can also buy insecticidal shampoos at the drugstore and wash with them. Also make sure you wash your clothing, towels, and sheets in hot water to kill any eggs or bugs left in them.
