If you were married for 21 years and your spouse gave you the option to either find a friend to have threesomes with and occasional nights out or get a divorce, what would you choose? Do you think your spouse would really follow through with the divorce if you choose not to have a threesome?

First-off, you should never swing (and yes, a threesome is technically swinging) to save a marriage or relationship. It doesn't. And after years in the swinger lifestyle myself, every case of divorce I've heard of was with a couple who used having sex with others to "fix" or to "spice-up" their marriage. If there are problems to begin with all it does is add more problems. Swinging and threesomes are to explore your sexual fantasies in a safe environment with your spouse. No one should ever be coerced or manipulated into it, or anything for that matter. It only builds resentment toward the other person.

If your spouse is thinking this is what your marriage needs, they are definitely selfish and immature. You don't swing to be happy in your relationship, you swing because you are totally happy and fulfilled in your relationship and it simply is an extension of that.

Having a threesome WILL NEVER SAVE A MARRIAGE!!!!

I think you need marriage counceing, because bringing anyone else into the picture will just cause even more problems.

If my wife gave me that ultimatum, I am sure she wouldn't go through with the divorce. And I would NOT choose to have the threesome. That's just wrong.

Also how would having a threesome save the marriage, because by bringing anyone else into the picture, your telling your spouse that say if it's a second woman, the guy is telling his wife she's not good enough, or in a second guy is involved she's telling her husband he's not enough for her. And all in all, there's nobody respecting anyone by having a threesome.

Your husband obviously doesn't respect you, or the 10 commandments...thou shall not commit adultery. Why would he even come up with such a ridiculous idea?

Having sex with an additional person is the same thing as "screwing" around.

If he is threatening you with 3-some or else divorce, take the divorce.

You are probably worth and have a lot more to offer than he and you need to get over it.

That is, of course - unless you really don't care about sin, and you want to have the 3-way to save your marriage.

OR

Whatever...

You want to get out of the marriage - and this is a great time to do it!

Actually, perhaps you should seek family counseling?

Oh well, I'm just a Yahoo!Answers person giving my 2¢ worth of opinion.

Good Luck

I don't think that not wanting to have a threesome is cause to get a divorce. If so then your marriage was all just a big joke.In some cases though; threesomes have helped some people in their marriages. If he wants you & another women tell him you want him and another man.See if this works out for you & hubby.

It is a trap man. Or she could be on a fishing expedition to find out if you want sex with someone other than her. Once she has an affirmative answer from you, she will know you don't want sex with her. I'd be very leery of how I answered her. If you truly want your marriage to survive, you have no choice but to tell her you do not wish to have a threesome. I somehow don't believe your 'V' is solely responsible for your dwindling sex drive. I'd look at how things are between the two of you in all the other areas. Good luck!

How is sleeping with some one else going to save your marriage. He shouldn't have given you a ultimatum either invite some one into your bedroom or get a divorce. What a creep. You should tell him a threesome is fine, that you have the perfect guy in mind. See how he likes that.

wow...that is so wrong. IF something like that would enter a marriage there should be discussion about it, you shouldnt be forced to do somthing like that. I wouldnt do it, I dont take threats kindly, Your husband should be told IF you are not interested in this activity that you do not want to.

If my husband did that to me..I would tell him...where do I sign!
I wouldnt want to be forced in a situation like that

I would also like to add that if the threesome is not accepted by both of you and that you have rules and share love toward each other, a threesome could make matters worse.
It is disrespectful to threaten a marriage over it.

Before my spouse filed for divorce, I would be cleaning out any and all assets and then I would let him file for divorce as
having a 3 some will not help any marriage and that would be against my morals. If you have no problem with it then fine to each is own, but don't do it to stay married regardless of 21 years or not.

a threesome will only end the marriage sooner. what if he enjoys another woman more than you? would you be able to sit there and participate in that? if you get jealous, he'll just use your willingness to participate as an excuse. what if you find the woman more attractive? will he be disappointed and angry for feeling you wanted her more than him? don't do it girl! you're asking for trouble. if its a true ultimatum, he's making excuses to sleep with other women. and if he wants the third person to be male, he's got a whole different set of issues he's dealing with
